Lab Safety for New Employees [everyone must do once]

Lab Safety Training for New Employees and Students has now been moved to Bridge; it is a self-enrolling course. You must complete this training and CU150 & CU505 (see below) before starting research.

Lab Safety Refresher  [everyone must do annually]

Lab safety refresher training for the school year is available here. This training is for people that have already completed Lab Safety for New Personnel; if you are new to Creighton, please complete the modules for New Lab Personnel.

The link can be found here: LAB SAFETY REFRESHER FOR 2023-24 (CU102). This is a link to BlueLine; as such, a Creighton NetID is required.

Lab Safety Training for Specific Areas

There are several lab training modules available, depending on what kind of work you are doing in the lab:

All lab workers that are not Radiation workers, and anyone entering a lab labeled as radioactive, must also watch the Radiation Safety Training for Non-Radiation Worker  (CU505) and take the associated quiz (15 minutes). [everyone must do annually]

Students doing spectroscopy with lasers will needed to complete Laser Safety Training (CU506). The training consists of watching a video and taking the associated quiz. A passing score on the laser safety training is 80%. [users must do every 3 years]

For lab safety information, please visit the linked EH&S webpage.

New members are to complete the "Laboratory Training for New Personnel" and "Hazardous Communication" (formerly "GHS") modules before starting research.

The "Lab Safety Refresher" is to be completed annually (by school year) by all research students, no exceptions.
