Lab Safety Training for New Employees and Students has now been moved to Bridge; it is a self-enrolling course. You must complete this training and CU150 & CU505 (see below) before starting research.
Lab safety refresher training for the school year is available here. This training is for people who have already completed Lab Safety for New Personnel; if you are new to Creighton, please complete the modules for New Lab Personnel.
There are several lab training modules available, depending on what kind of work you are doing in the lab:
Lab Safety for Visitors (CU181) is for the occasional visitor to labs -- computer technicians, administrative personnel, delivery people, and the like. (10 minutes)
Hazard Communication Training (CU150) is required by OSHA for everyone who is in contact with chemicals in the workplace. This includes laboratory personnel, administrators, Facilities Management employees, delivery personnel, etc. Anyone who enters a lab for any reason must complete this training. [everyone must do once]
All lab workers who are not Radiation workers and anyone entering a lab labeled as radioactive must also watch the Radiation Safety Training for Non-Radiation Workers (CU505) and take the associated quiz (15 minutes). [everyone must do annually]
Students doing spectroscopy with lasers will need to complete Laser Safety Training (CU506). The training consists of watching a video and taking the associated quiz. A passing score on the laser safety training is 80%. [users must do every 3 years]
